Dr. Patricia Frye is an independent physician consultant who focuses on cannabis and cannabinoid medicine and the role it plays in homeostasis and the management of pain and chronic disease. She evaluates and manages patients who are considering the use medicinal cannabis as a primary or adjunct therapy for illnesses such as chronic pain syndromes, neurodegenerative disorders, gastrointestinal disease, seizures, autism, autoimmune disease, cancer, and psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Frye graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1981. After graduation, she remained there to complete her pediatric residency. She then went to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she completed a residency year in anesthesiology. There she gained experience in medical pain management and pain management procedures.
Dr. Frye has evaluated over 3,000 California patients and provided educational consultations to patients thoughout the US and worldwide. Since opening her office in Takoma Park, MD in 2015, Dr Frye has evaluated and managed an additional 2000 patients, Board-certified in pediatrics, Dr. Frye is professionally certified in Cannabis Science and Medicine by the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine.
She is a diplomat of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, a member of the Academy of Cannabis Specialists and a fellow of the Academy of Integrative Pain Management. She lectures extensively on the use of cannabis in medicine for hospitals, universities, physician groups, and cannabis industry groups throughout the mid-Atlantic region and is the author of the soon-to-be released book, “The Medical Marijuana Guide: Cannabis and Your Health
